To ensure a safe and focused learning environment, it's crucial to properly set up YouTube filters. Follow these steps to enable and configure YouTube filters for your class:
Ensure that the Enable YouTube filter checkbox is checked. Scroll down to the YouTube Filter section.
Under Categories > Blocklist, click the Select a category to Blocklist drop-down menu and select a category, e.g. Autos & Vehicles. Click on the plus sign (+) button to add the category.
Under Channels > Blocklist, enter a URL to blacklist, and click on the plus sign (+) to add the URL.
Under Videos > Blocklist, enter a URL to blacklist, and click the plus sign (+) to add the URL.
Conversely, using the Allowed list options will always allow specified categories or URLs.
Tips:
- Use the block list to block inappropriate or distracting content.
- Use the Allowed list to ensure access to essential educational content.
